The UK's most-stolen large van deserves serious protection. Our mid cage bolts directly to the Transit's existing floor anchor points — no drilling, no modifications, fitted in under 30 minutes.
The Ford Transit L3 and L4 have one of the longest load bays available on a panel van in the UK. The compact cage simply won't cover the full depth — the mid cage at 2,500mm length is the correct specification for a Transit, giving you maximum coverage from bulkhead to rear.
Builders, heating engineers, and large trade firms routinely carry thousands of pounds of tools and stock in Transit load bays. The mid cage creates a full steel barrier that makes opportunistic theft far harder — even when the van is left unattended on site.
We recommend a two-person installation for the mid cage in a Transit given the cage length — panels are manageable but having a second pair of hands makes alignment to the anchor points straightforward.
The Transit's load bay is well-suited to a quick install. Existing floor anchor points and side rail channels mean everything lines up without any fabrication work.
Swing the Transit's rear barn doors to 270° if possible, or at least 180°. The mid cage panels are slid in through the rear opening — the Transit's wide rear aperture makes this straightforward even on the L4.
Cage panels slide in flat and are assembled inside the load bay. Position the cage tight against the Transit's steel bulkhead — the mid cage is designed to sit flush, leaving the rear section of the load bay open for loading and unloading.
The Ford Transit comes with factory floor lashing rings and anchor points built in. The mid cage uses these existing points — no drilling into the floor, no modifications to the van. Standard bolts, done in minutes.
The sliding door panel clips into the Transit's side door frame and is secured without drilling. This closes the gap at the side door and prevents tools being accessed through the side even when the cage is locked.
Do a final check of all bolts, confirm the cage door locks cleanly, and the job's finished. Total time from arriving at the Transit to driving away: under 30 minutes. Two fitters working together on a mid cage will be done even faster.
Sized to suit the Ford Transit L3 and L4 load bay. All steel construction with a powder-coat finish.
